Our History
The history of a nation is very important to the structure on which it is governed and the patriotic people involved in the nationalism of America. This country has gone through battles, wars, suffrage, and revolution to make it the society it has become. Here is a brief timeline of America's history and how it cam to be the country we know and love:
1607 - The English make their first settlement in America
1776 - The United States declares independence from England 1776 - Betsy Ross sews the first American Flag 1861 - The South declares independence from the Union and starts a war with the North (Civil War) 1865 - The Civil War ends 1876 - National Baseball League is founded 1914-1918 - World War I is fought 1929 - The Great Depression 1941-1945 - World War II is fought 1959 - Hawaii is declared the 50th state in the United States of America 1960 - The current American Flag (50 stars) is created 1969 - America achieves the first man to walk on the moon 2009 - The first African American President is elected |
